Ushers in Kaogma celebration

The Cultural Development Office under the Provincial Governor’s Office (PGO) headed by Mr. Jaime Letada, Jr. announces the launch of the very 1st Gov. Migz Dance Revolution 2014, a province-wide modern dance showdown that will showcase the best dance crews operating in Camarines Sur.  The district eliminations are slated this April-May 2014 with the grand finals on May 27, 2014 which happens to be the 435th foundation anniversary of Camarines Sur.

    Mr. Letada’s office further relayed that the schedule and venue for the district eliminations are:  April 25, 2014 in Ragay for District 1; May 1, 2014 in Pasacao for District 2; May 3, 2014 in Camaligan for District 3; May 9, 2014 in Goa for District 4; and May 10, 2014 in Nabua for District 5.

    Auditions will be held on the day of the eliminations from 9AM-3PM while the contest proper will commence from 7PM-11PM.

    Basic criteria include the following:  each group must consist of a minimum of 6 and a maximum of 8 members both male and female; costumes must be decent, bright, presentable, and appropriate; and music must last for 3-5 minutes only.  The criteria for judging will be:  35%-mastery & gracefulness; 15%-choreography; 15%-difficulty of steps; 15%-timing & coordination; 15%-costume; 5%-audience impact for a total score of 100%.

    Guaranteed prizes for the district eliminations are:  First Prize-Php15,000.00; Second Prize-Php10,000.00; and Php5,000.00 each for the 3 non-winners.  For the grand finals:  First Prize-Php50,000.00; Second Prize-Php30,000.00; Third Prize-Php20,000.00; and Php5,000.00 each for the 7 consolation prizes.  

    Gov. Migz Villafuerte hopes to help develop and promote new talents and dance discoveries in the province especially amongst the youth who are close to his heart’s advocacy.
